Ocean Jasper comes from an isolated area off the northwest coast of Madagascar.  It can only be found at low tide, must be mined with picks and hammers, and then boated out. 

This cabochon was handshaped and polished in an oval.  It has been wire wrapped in 14k gold filled wire and measures 2-1/2"Lx1-1/4"W.
