Blue Swirlstone is a siliceous sodalite and quartz mix (sodalite mixed with pink feldspar and white quartz). A lot of folding has taken place. This folding has left a stunning design in the rock. From one angle you find a swirly pattern and from another the pattern appears more spotty. There are good blues and some pinks. The yellow is rather scarce. Spheres from this are stunning. It is from north of Namibia. It polishes very well.
This slab measures 4-3/4"x3-3/4" and is 3/16" thick. It has swirls of blue, white and pink. You should be able to get 5-6 cabs from this slab. Please go look in the Blog section to see a cabochon from this material.
