Blue Swirlstone - A siliceous sodalite and quartz mix (sodalite mixed with pink feldspar and white quartz). A lot of folding has taken place. This folding has left a stunning design in the rock. From one angle you find a swirly pattern and from another the pattern appears more spotty. There are good blues and some pinks. The yellow is rather scarce. Spheres from this are stunning. It is from north of Namibia. It polishes very well.
This african rough for slabbing or cabbing weighs 6-3/4 lbs. and is cut on 2 sides. It measure 5"x8"x2-3/4". It was photographed wet in natural sunlight.
